Chapter 4: The Promise

” Emperor Ivancore and Crown Prince Zen of Sevelrum , greets the Emperor of Eravi.”
“We are grateful to have Emperor Ivancore and Crown Prince Zen visit Eravi.”
Emperor Ivancore and Emperor Alenward exchanged formal greetings and the palace butler led them to the dinning hall of Eravi Palace where there stood Empress Fisairi, Concubine Evistia, Princess Aria, Crown Prince Aries greeting them .
“Welcome to Eravi, Emperor Ivancore and Crown Prince Zen of Sevelrum, please take your seats.”
Fisairi greeted them and asked them to sit down for the meal together.
But Crown Prince Zen stood in his tracks staring at Aria from her eyes that seems like the ocean glittering in the moonlight to her dark brown hairs which feels almost like it’s flowing on its own and every inch of her as if the world around him drowned in the blindness of his eyes and their voice slipped into the silence of his ears.
” Son!”
Emperor Ivancore called out to Zen and he finally snapped out to reality.
“I apologize for my rudeness.”
Zen quickly took his eyes off Aria and sat down next to his father across the Alanward and his family.
“Son,you can stare at her all you want after you get married, pfft.”
Emperor Ivancore whispered to Zen but Zen acted nonchalant and started eating the food in front of him.
“Please feel to your heart’s content.”
“I hope Emperor and Crown Prince enjoy their stay in Eravi.”
Alenward exclaimed.
“Thank you for such a warm welcome.”
The two families had the meal together talking about random things and celebrating Princess Aria and Crown Prince’s engagement.
“Would I be too bold to ask Princess Aria to take me for a walk in the palace garden?”
Crown Prince Zen asked as everyone finished their meals.
“No, not at all.”
Alenward nodded to Aria and she stood up from her sit and led Zen to the garden.
Zen stared at Aria as they walked side by side in the garden, when voices of unknown events echoed in his ears –
-How many more times will I die, before I finally be free?
-sob…sob….
-It will end soon ,I promise
– I shall stand against the spins of the Earth,
– shall die a thousand deaths
-shall kill a thousand breaths
– if it means to set you free
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
“I apologize, it’s just that you are gorgeous.”
Aria looked away as her cheeks flushed when Zen smiled at her.
“T-Thank you.”
“The palace garden is beautiful.”
“It sure is, but it’s getting a bit chilly, lets head inside.”
“Sure thing.”
“Your Highness, thank you for willing to postpone our marriage so I could celebrate my mother’s birthday .”
“Call me Zen and I am happy that I will get to know you better before we tie the knot.”
Aria nodded and smiled as they both headed back into the palace.
