Chapter 3: HE WITH THE GORGEOUS SMILE
It was currently 10.44 and I was already starving. I haven’t had breakfast and I’ve been up since five and then I was sparring with Ken until an hour ago. Then a freshman from the culinary club asked for my help to change the gas in their practice kitchen. They didn’t tell me that I have to change all 12 gasses, though (though I have to admit that I am not actually complaining, since they paid me in a handful of Ben and Jerry’s vouchers) and then I was rushing to get to the basketball hall to meet Marsha and the basketball team for the photography job.
When I arrived, Marsha was already there with two other members of the photography club who will help me with the shoot. I waved my hand at her and ran lightly to the side bench where she, the two members of the photography club (Jacob and Casey), the captain of the basketball team, and the manager of the basketball team were sitting and chatting.
“You’re late,” Marsha said, not actually angry, just a tiny bit pissed. I grinned at her apologetically and she sighed. I nodded respectfully at the other four. I already knew Jacob and Casey (I spent most of my time in the photography club room most days) and I knew of the other two because I’ve helped some members of the basketball team a few times before. Though I’ve never actually talked to them personally.
“Sorry I’m late,” I apologized to the five of them. “Got caught up.”
“You always are,” Marsha said but then she smiled understandingly, “This is Allen, the captain of the basketball team. And Erica, the manager,” Marsha introduced them to me. “This is Levi. He’ll be the photographer for your project,” She then introduced me to Allen and Erica.
“I know you,” Allen said, extending his big, muscular hand for me to shake, “You’re the infamous go-to-guy,” He smiled. His whole face lit up when he smiled. His bright blue eyes shone even more.
That’s beautiful, I thought as I shook his hand, grinning.
“The one and only,” I told him quite proudly, “I guess- hope so.” I grinned and he chuckled with his deep and low voice that seemed to vibrate my insides.
His voice was very pleasant.
“Nice to meet you,” Erica, a small woman, very cute, also extended her hand to me and smiled as I took it.
“Likewise,” I smiled back, “So, any concept you have in mind?” I asked the two of them, immediately turning on my business mode.
“We originally just wanted to do the calendar.” Erica informed me, her voice is also pleasantly light, “But then our website is flooded with requests, so now we are also thinking of doing a photo booklet,” She told me a little hesitatingly.
“As for the concept,” Allen continued with his deep and low voice, “We want to be as playful as we can for the calendar but we want to present our more mature selves for the booklet,” He explained and my brain started to turn as I nodded continuously. I probably looked like a chicken in doing so. I was already excited when flashes of images popped up in my head.
“I think I know what to do,” I smiled at my clients confidently, “I’ll prepare for the props and sketch frames then I’ll get back to you in two days at the latest,” I told them as I took out my cell phone from my jeans’ pocket. I asked them for their contacts and the three of us exchanged contacts.
“Alright, then,” I put my phone back in my pocket. “I have another job to get to so I’m gonna go now. I’ll contact you later,” I said to Erica and Allen.
“You sure are busy,” Allen chuckled as I waved and ran outside to another job that was waiting for me.
“I’ll call you!” I shouted at him.
My next appointment was with Quin, regarding her charity fashion show. We would be meeting at her faculty’s workshop. My appointment would be short this time, because she only needed to take my measurements for the clothes.
I was right. It only took her less than 5 minutes to take my measurements and we spent about half an hour chatting, mostly about the charity fashion show before my phone started to ring.
“Yo,” I greeted Chuck who was on the other line.
“Lunch?” he asked. I looked at my watch.
“Sure,” I answered him before making sure I have no other appointment at lunch. I only needed to go to the drama club room later at three. “C?” I suggested the C building’s cafeteria because it was closest to the drama club.
“Sure. Marsha?” Chuck asked.
“Basketball hall,” I told him. I remembered her saying that she’ll stay and chat with Erica for a while.
“I’ll get her,” Chuck said before hanging up.
I hurriedly ran to the C building and arrived before my two best friends so I immediately ordered for them also. Marsha’s cold noodle and Chuck’s spicy stir fry seafood noodle while I ordered lemon chicken rice for myself.
When I saw them entering the cafeteria, I waved my hand. Heads started to turn towards them. I chuckled to myself. They always managed to steal anyone’s attention with their appearance anywhere. Marsha owed it to her striking beauty while Chuck to his amazing body. Moreover, they were also followed by one handsome blonde guy that was Allen.
Changed into a long sleeved shirt that he rolled above his elbows, his manly beauty was also striking and made heads turn.
He was gorgeous.
I smiled at him politely when they arrived at our seat. He took the seat across from me and Marsha on his right while Chuck took the one on my left.
“I didn’t know you were coming, so I only ordered for the three of us,” I said apologetically to Allen, ignoring the weight on my shoulders that was Chuck’s hand.
“That’s alright,” He smiled at me. “I already ate. I’m meeting my girlfriend near here so I figured I’d just tag along and wait for her to finish.”
“Your girlfriend’s Joy, right?” Chuck asked and Allen confirmed.
“Oh, the cheer team captain?” I asked, not really surprised. Just slightly curious.
They made a beautiful couple, that’s for sure.
Which was not a surprising thing, tough. Captain of the basketball team and captain of the cheer team? It was like the perfect couple from a teen romance movie. I meant perfect like in perfect. They both came from very prestigious families. Both had striking beauty and both were very good in their respective fields.
Perfect.
