Then she lived with him till she got old and they died then she woke up with here phone in her hand from her long dream, went outside for diner and fell in love with hher fav in real life ….story complete for me 😂

Honestly I’m not satisfied by his actions. In the end regardless of his reason at the cost of his wife and her plans he went back and protected his first love much like he did in the beginning at the cost of his reputation when he poisoned her enemies. And they never addressed that. Nor do they dress the great love story about how the second male lead in the end to fight his life to protect the princess. Because at least that’s what the Public’s going to see who don’t know all the details. Instead he just did it without explaining much of anything and then cried and clung to her and she just Shrugged and accepted it. I guess it’s just lazy that the author decided to wrap up the story arc in this way and just let our female lead track her shoulders and accept it because apparently she has no individual thoughts anymore and she exists for him so he could do whatever he wants. I’m still not reconciled over it. I really adored him as a character until he did those actions. I hate it.

He didn’t do it for Diana, he did it for Helios and the Empire (this is explained in the chapter when Kael becomes depressed, and the side story following). If Diana had been deposed, it would have shown that the nobles had power over the royal family, which could lead to them being overthrown. So Heli told Kael to take Diana’s side.

And in all honesty, Kael wanted it to be over so that he and Hestia could focus on each other. He could care less about Diana and Hestia was starting to lose it, because she was so blinded by her desire for revenge that she didn’t realize what she really wanted from Diana (which was for her to realize how much Kael had done for her and regret losing him); until Heli pointed it out to her. Also, because she still viewed the world as a novel, she couldn’t bring herself to accept her relationship with Kael as being real (even though for Kael it was), and felt (as you said) Kael was entitled to do whatever he wanted.

Exactly, Hestia was being blinded with rage and desire for revenge that she completely lose sight to what she initially started this revenge for. She wants Helios and Diana to be sorry for what they did and for Kael to be happy. Both Heli and Diana already ask for forgiveness, although not in the way Hestia wants. She wants, especially Diana to be sorry after she loses everything and after she experienced atleast half of what Kael went through. That’s why she’s very unsatisfied with the way Diana asked for forgiveness because Hestia felt like Diana only did that because of what Kael did and not actually because she’s sorry. But we should keep in mind that her beliefs have already been shaken when she talked with Heli during that prayer meeting and have been meaning to say sorry since. Although her, asking for forgiveness was still unsatisfactory for most part, that’s just Diana is, her self-righteousness is just part of her character design and I don’t think that’ll change as of now. Most importantly, Kael is already happy with Hestia by his side and could no longer careless about what happens to Heli and Diana. He did what he did for the peace of the empire. Hestia just can’t accept that what she wanted didn’t happen and everything she planned fell through. She felt like the purpose to why she regressed became useless and her existence is no longer serves purpose. It’s a good thing Kael pulled all stops to everything before Hestia’s anger consume her totally. People can assume all they want why Kael did what he did, even Hestia didn’t assume such cause she knows that Kael truly loves her.

The ending falls short, lacking excitement. I’m frustrated by how she built a parasocial connection with the male lead just to give purpose to her new life. How could she easily forgive him after he promised everlasting comradeship and love only to betray her? She underestimated herself and allowed her husband to do the same. By ignoring their issues and pretending they didn’t exist, she ultimately trapped herself in a repetitive cycle.

while i understand his reasons for defending diana, it still would suck if i were the fl. aside from feeling betrayed coz he didnt ask for what i want before making up his mind.. he didn’t think about how her friends would think of her? coz now the rumors are her guy defended his old love coz he couldnt forget about her. and blocked her plans and forced her to leave with him. u need to protect ur wife’s pride?

what some people want are male leads who’ll burn the world for fl. and he was painted as such when it came to diana in the og story. but he cares more about the empire so i guess i can understand him a bit but it really feels disappointing. i guess it’s realistic coz in marriage, sometimes your partner would greatly disappoint u and u gotta live with it. but it seems really unfair!!! coz she didnt even wanna live in this world, she actually worked hard in her og life. but shes willing to do everything for the ml even forget about this betrayal but it seems that’s not the case for him? i wish to see him regret more actually. but again i get his decision but there are things u can understand but cant accept! i think if the girl loved herself more she’d have left already after that fiasco. they’re both not normal anyways

What betray? Since Kaelus burned Diana’s gift he has not let himself be swayed anymore by her. Stop thinking he did what he did for Fiana, he did it for his Empire, the royal family (Emperor and Helio whom where like his own and for Hestia to stop her from loosing herself. Saving Diana was a mean not the objective.

    1. Gataloca

Exactly!. There was no betrayal because Kael never asked Hestia to do any revenge for him in the first place. It was all Hestia being self-righteous and stubborn in her own way. Kael agreed with her to work toward the goal of making Diana apology to him, and Diana actually did it. Kael was the victim so it was up to him to decide if he accept that apology or not, not Hestia.

Kael just wanted to move on. Keeping with the revenge would not do any good for anybody, other than the self satisfaction of Hestia, because Kael doesn’t feel anything for Diana anymore, and even when their friendship was broken, he still cares for Helio and specially for his Majesty, who treats him as a second son.
